By | June 11th, 2012 | Tags: , , , , , , , | 65 Comments

This week we’re giving you the chance to take home a copy of ghostly thriller The Woman in Black on Blu-ray.

Seriously impressing at the box office, this spooky drama starring Daniel Radcliffe takes the haunted house genre to a whole new level. Radcliffe plays Arthur Kipps, a grieving lawyer who takes on management of a crumbling countryside estate. However he quickly discovers there’s more to the creepy old house than meets the eye, as a malevolent spirit hell-bent on causing deadly destruction surfaces.

As usual with Blu-ray Monday, you have two chances to win. For your first entry hit the tweet button at the top of this post. Then for a second entry, leave a comment on this post in response to the following question:

Radcliffe’s first major film role since the Harry Potter franchise ended, The Woman in Black sees him showcase a more mature acting style that’s impressed fans and critics alike. With Rupert Grint set to star in CBGB and Emma Watson taking roles in My Week with Marilyn and The Perks of Being a Wallflower, this week we’d like to know what roles you’d like to see Radcliffe, Watson and Grint tackle in the future? Would you like to see Radcliffe take on a period drama or war role? Do you think Watson would make the perfect lead in a rom-com or musical? Or maybe you’d like to see Grint in a comedic sci-fi or gangster crime movie? Or perhaps you’ve seen a film that you think they should have been cast in? Either way let us know for your chance to win!

To make it easier for us to contact you, leave your Twitter details with your comment. We look forward to your suggestions!

  2. Tammy Sigond says:

    i would love to see his musical side and possibly rom-com so fun to watch him grow up. Thanks for the chance @TammySigond

  3. Tom Beasley says:

    I’d like to see Emma Watson do a comedy of some kind. Something along the lines of Emma Stone in Easy A.

    Rupert Grint would be good as the wise-cracking stoner in a slasher movie.

    I’d like to see Dan Radcliffe as a super-villain. That would be fun.

  4. Tracy p says:

    I’d like to see them in anything that isn’t typical

  5. Keri Jones says:

    I wanna see this film soooo badly! I never got a chance to see it at the cinema as I was heavily pregnant *fingers crossed*

  6. Keri Jones says:

    I think the 3 would be great for a sci-fi seeing them being geeky/funny. Emma Watson seems so ‘proper’ in real life it would be really great to see her in a comedy/spoofy role :)

  7. Paul Johnson says:

    What about a Shakespeare adaptation with a modern twist in the same vein as Romeo and Juliet?

    That’ll really test their acting ability.I was impressed by Radcliffe in “The Woman In Black” though.

  8. Chrissie Braddock says:

    @hypermom21 Thank you

  9. Ryan says:

    Radcliffe–I think he could play a super creepy serial killer

    Grint–Not really sure yet. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him end up behind the camera though

    Watson–Would love to see her in a musical

  10. Debbie Davis says:

    I would love to see Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint in a comedy. They are very talented, young versatile actors and I know that they will continue to entertain me for many years to come.

  11. Tabby says:

    I would like to see Emma Watson in an action movie roll. I think it would be a good test of her acting prowess & a good way to break out of being typecast as a goody two shoes for the rest of her career.

    @Heavenlyink

  12. Amanda Burchell says:

    Watson in a slasher
    Radcliffe in a Thriller
    Grint in a comedy

  13. Barrie Phillips says:

    I think Radcliffe a definite candidate for a future Bond.I’ve been very impressed with his acting and I’m glad to see he hasn’t been typecast.As you have already pointed out he’s matured and I hope he has a glittering career in front of him.As for Watson and Grint they both have plenty of talent and are both suited for a variety of roles in different genres but the shining star of the three is Daniel Radcliffe.

  15. Ritchie says:

    Emma Watson as Bond girl. Daniel Radcliffe as Bond. Rupert Grint as Bond villain.

    @ritchie_dee

  16. Danielle Graves says:

    I think they should find a film where Rupert Grint can be a sex symbol because gingers get overlooked.

  20. Gustavo Lopez says:

    I believe that they will all do good on any other genre. They did an amazing job with the fantasy movies of Harry Potter and I’m sure they’ll be able to take over the other genres. Yet, I would like to see Emma Watson in a comedy film and see her potential on that genre. Rupert Grint is funny so I will want to see him in a comedy as well as a horror film. Daniel Radcliffe is great with “supernatural” movies but to see him in an action film would be interesting.

  21. Anita says:

    I think each of the Potter “kids” should try to choose roles that are as far away from the Harry Potter genre as possible. Depending on how each of the guys can master an American accent, I think if Daniel and/or Rupert took either major or smaller parts in some indie films, something gritty & noir-ish, that would let the audience start to not stereotype them.
    Emma I think may want to look at Dakota Fanning’s career choices as she has done lots of different roles which haven’t pigeon holed her into only certain types of films. I also think Emma should look to indie films, more grittier roles maybe where she plays some trashy/down-on-her-luck roles.

    @CinemaInamorata

  22. Fredrik says:

    Would be cool to see Daniel in an action movie, with him as lead. He is a fantastic actor, and I’d love to see him in something a little different, like that. More realistic.

    @mjselvig

  23. John Goldberg says:

    I think Daniel and Rupert would make a good Doctor Who and his Companion if they make a new Doctor Who movie.

  24. Christopher Jones says:

    I definetely think I would like to see Radcliffe in the role of a serial killer, he showed in woman in black he could do a bit of darker acting, but still as the good guy, He should try playing the bad guy. I bet he would be good in this type of role.

    @Artfuldigger

  25. Rose says:

    I’d like to see Emma Watson in a comedy she defiantly is too serious in potter.
    @roseannaains

  26. andrew says:

    @drkmn302 -Radcliffe needs a more challenging role period drama be to easy so a more dramatic role defo war based!!

  27. Laura Costello says:

    I think Daniel Radcliffe has REALLY grown up recently and should next have a role in a Zombie movie!

  28. Stacey Pryce says:

    I would love to see Daniel Radcliffe in a romantic comedy @staceymariep

  29. Yvonne Brownsea says:

    I think Rupert Grint would play a great alien visitor to Earth :D As for Daniel Radcliffe, I was surprised about him being the lead role in The Woman In Black as I kind of felt like he didn’t fit the role, but when I actually went to see it at the cinema, I thought he took on the role really well and was pleasantly surprised, so I think I’d like to see him pop up in some more horror films! @MySonsSpongeMad

  30. Matt or @killingbeck1981 says:

    I could see Radcliffe working with the Coen bros at some point.

    Grint is definitely going to do a British Rom com that everyone watches at Christmas

    And Emma Watson is going to crack a grim war drama where she has to shave her head for the role

  31. Pat Stubbs says:

    I think Rupert would be great in Alfie
    Daniel would be good in any character role as he has a gift for expressing emotion in his acting which would lend itself well to Shakespeare
    Emma is worth more than a rom-com – would be very good in Jane Austen

    twitter name is @scrapten

  32. Caroline Hammond says:

    I think all 3 would be great in a comedy but Daniel would probably be good in a Shakespeare film @Carolinehammon1

  33. Kelly lawton says:

    @LeinadDOP80

  37. Ed says:

    Good film.A little jumpy in places.

  38. Frances Heaton says:

    I would like to see Daniel Radcliffe take on serious roles, a lead part in a crime drama – the quiet detective who methodically works out the clues.
    I see Rupert Grint in comedy roles mainly – possibly a sci-fi theme where he could explore his talent for comedy, along with a strong storyline, featuring aliens.
    It’s difficult not to see Emma Watson as a younger version of Julie Andrews, or a Kiera Knightley type of actress. She would be great in adventure movies, where the heroin is a strong, purposeful, determined woman.
    All these actors have lots of talent and hidden depths to explore, great watching them.

  39. Vicky Cole says:

    I think Daniel Radcliffe would be great in a period drama

  40. Vicky Cole says:

    Oh forgot twitter name @smith2cole

  41. juliette says:

    What a great film – Daniel Radcliffe was so believable in this role and shows his diversity as an actor.
    It would be great to see all three cast in a spoof of Harry potter vs twilight

  42. mathew m says:

    radcliffe would be good in master and commander 2 if they make it.It would be nice to see emma in a bad girl role to give shake off her good girl image.Rupert would be in some kind of tarantino movie :)

    I think they should all do individual comedies to show us fans, that they can be versatile @claysdaddy

  45. Bickle77 says:

    They should do a new Harry Potter origin film. It’s surely due for a reboot by now anyway. @bickle77

  46. Sharon Arnott says:

    I’d like to see Emma Watson in a rom com. I can’t imagine her in her a musical.

  47. Terry Leake says:

    I think Emma Watson may suit a thriller/horror style film. The rest should stick to kids films!

  48. Shelbie Johnston says:

    I think Emma Watson would be great in a mystery thriller!

  51. Nick Hopkins says:

    Daniel Radcliffe as a future Sherlock Holmes.

  52. Angela says:

    I’d like to see them in a Western. I’m sure this genre is ready for a resurgence. How about a remake of Calamity Jane with Watson in the lead role. She is surely sassy enough. Radcliffe and Grint could be her sidekicks, the serious and the humourous one, both vying for her romantic attention.

  53. Stevan says:

    Come along way since Harry potter

  54. Ashley Blackburn says:

    Really enjoy Daniel’s acting, he pulls off the quirky characters well. Aka Harry had 10 years of a miserable life & then so much changed in just the 1st book/film and Daniel captured that loney & kind boy from under the cupboard so well. He also did a fantastic job as the grieving husband/busy dad in the woman in black!

    Really hope to see more films with the magical trio of Daniel, Rupert & Emma in the future, even if they’re in different movies from each other.

    @aab0289

  55. Tommy Fleming says:

    I think that Rupert Grint should play Ed Sheeran in a gritty Biopic set against dark times as a lone ginger singer rises against the odds and becomes a star it will be called “Lego House” the tag line would be “they took his world apart, but now he’s going to rebuild it!”

    Daniel Radcliffe would Cameo as the ghost of Arthur Kipps who gives him advice on the right choice to make and Emma Watson is the hooker who is in a criminal gang called The A-Team which is headed by the pimp villain played by Alan Rickman in a purple feathered pimp hat

  56. Andrew Black says:

    Harry who?

    Never heard of him?

    Do you mean Paul potts?

    Radcliffe for batman 19!!

    Lenfromhell

  57. Jenny Harper says:

    Radcliffe in a Wes Andersen production. (Royal Tenenbaums 2)
    Watson in a big budget Sci-Fi picture (Star Trek maybe)
    Grint – Maybe a ginger superhero in the next Avengers Assemble

    @jaseos81

  58. Jason says:

    Emma Watson would be perfect for either a Diana Rigg biography OR a real remake of The Avengers… Radcliffe and Grint get cameos. :D

  59. Tammy Anderson says:

    I would love to get this, I didn’t get to see it at the movies, so hoping to win it.

    I think Radcliffe could play well in a film noir sci fi, like blade runner or dark city.
