An image of The Queen on Blu-rayFor this, and next week’s Blu-ray Monday competition* we’re giving you the chance to take home a copy of The Queen (Diamond Jubilee Edition) on Blu-ray.

This special reissue marks Queen Elizabeth II’s 60th year on the throne, and brings to life the tragic story of how the British Royal Family dealt with the death of Diana, Princess of Wales. Under the direction of Stephen Frears, Helen Mirren takes centre stage as the monarch in an extraordinary performance which saw her scoop the Best Actress Oscar and BAFTA in 2006.

As usual with Blu-ray Monday, you have two chances to win. For your first entry hit the tweet button at the top of this post. Then for a second entry, leave a comment on this post in response to the following question:

Mirren’s poignant and touching performance was key to the success of The Queen, so this week we’d like to know who your favourite on-screen royal has been and why? Perhaps you’re a fan of real life depictions such as Colin Firth’s stuttering King George VI in The King’s Speech or Emily Blunt’s beautiful but tragic Queen Victoria in The Young Victoria? Or perhaps you prefer comedic interpretations such as Amy Adam’s ditsy Giselle in Enchanted or John Lithgow’s outrageous Lord Farquaad in Shrek? Either way let us know for your chance to win.

To make it easier for us to contact you, leave your Twitter details with your comment. We look forward to your suggestions! A winner will be announced one week later than usual, on Monday 11th June.

*This is due to the bank holiday weekend for the Diamond Jubilee celebrations in the UK
