Hold on tight because this week, we’re giving you the chance to take home a copy of the slick and stylish movie, Drive, on Blu-ray Disc.
Winner of Best Director at the Cannes Film Festival last year, Nicolas Winding Refn’s controversial masterpiece stars Ryan Gosling as a getaway driver who can’t help falling in love with his beautiful neighbour Irene, played by Carey Mulligan. After a heist, intended to pay off Irene’s husband’s protection money, spins unpredictably out of control, Gosling finds himself fighting for the girl he loves, pursued by a syndicate of deadly criminals.
As usual with Blu-ray Monday, you have two chances to win. For your first entry hit the tweet button at the top of this post. Then for a second entry, leave a comment on this post in response to the following question:
Who would be your ideal getaway driver and what car would you want them to use? James Bond and Jason Bourne have driven themselves out of many a sticky situation thanks to Minis, Audis and Aston Martins. Would you choose to take a risk with one of them? Tom Cruise showed his credentials in Days of Thunder and Vin Diesel took drag racing to the next level in Fast & Furious, so would you be tempted to rely on one of them if your freedom depended on it? Surely Batman behind the wheel of the Batmobile or Batpod would take some catching too? Or maybe you’d like to accompany a car in an out-of-this-world creation such as Bumblebee from Transformers or Lightning McQueen from Pixar’s Cars. Whatever your answer, we’d love to read it!
To make it easier for us to contact you, leave your Twitter details with your comment. We look forward to your suggestions!
Steve McQeen in a Ford Mustang
Vin Diesel in Herbie @eyewonit
I suspect Chitty Chitty Bang Bang would come in quite handy. Yes it’s pretty slow but think of the benefits. No petrol? No problem! Just wind it up! Also, traffic scuppering your escape? Hit the fly button! And regardless of any situation, you get to sing the song. Brilliant.
Lightning McQueen from Cars
@JohnCena in a Dodge Charger SRT8 Super Bee Hemi
Kowalski (from Vanishing Point) in that white 1970 Dodge Challenger! You know he’d outrun the Fuzz!

Having seen Drive, I’d definitely want Ryan Gosling’s character as my getaway driver. Although I’d make his car Bumblebee from Transformers.

Think I’d go with Nic Cage given his driving skills in Drive Angry although perhaps would use his Ghost Rider charger as a getaway vehicle. No one would get in the way of that!!
Marty McFly and the Delorean. What better way to escape than through time? @jackamartin
perfect answer!
I would like Jona Hill to be my getaway driver and the car to be driving is a toyota Prius, I bet it would be quite funny, plus its good for the enviroment.

My son would be my ideal getaway driver using his fancy car, I have no idea what it is as he changes cars like I change underwear…but its got the snazzy wheels, exhaust and sound system and with him behind the wheel would get me anywhere fast, but I’d have to change my underwear again on arrival no doubt.

For my getaway driver, I’d want Stuntman Mike from Death Proof. I’d get away, but I’d probably die in the process. @taddgood

Dot Cotton from Eastenders… Driving as Monster truck! Just for laughs!
@LondonBirdLucy
Ryan Gosling in a Ferrari. @amack10
Clint Eastwood in his Gran Torino. If he can’t drive fast enough, he’d “outgun” them anyway.
@unwitterer
I’d trust Liam Neeson to get me out of a sticky situation – his driving skills in Taken were second to none and it would have to be in Lightning McQueen because he is quicker than quick! @MySonsSpongeMad
Not because it’s the film I’m hoping to win, but because of how good a driver he is, I would choose Ryan Gosling in “Drive”. I would rather have him as he would be more intellectual in his ability to get away, he would know all the streets, any events or possibilities that would come in handy, and he wouldn’t attract attention when trying to get away. A cerebral getaway driver.

Now thats a film i’d like to see
Any of the vamps from Twilight. With their reflexes they can drive much faster than a human … car .. I don’t know what’s fast so I would leave that up to them! @torialou78
Jason Bourne on the mini cooper!
@VeridisQuo1
I think that Jean Claude Van Damme would get me away from danger in a lovely Dodge Viper. He is so smooth and the car looks almost as sexy!

Agent 47 from Hitman. Cool, calm, collected and wearing leather gloves. I’d have him drive an old Mini, or something else with very little boot space. . .
